Scope and Contents
Robert Cadell (1788-1849) was the partner of Archibald Constable, and, after the dissolution of that partnership in 1825, the sole publisher of Walter Scott's novels. His papers reflect his personal and business relations with Scott and other authors, as well as his family affairs.

This loose collection of papers belonged to Duncan Campbell, who was born at the farm of Kerrumore, Glenlyon, of which his family had been tenants for three generations. He was editor of the ‘Northern Chronicle’, co-editor of the ‘Highland Monthly’, and author of a number of works relating to Highland history, notably the ‘Book of Garth and Fortingall’.
